Trying to teach poetry inside: How can a poem touch a person's life who is serving time? This is an old question but it has been answered repeatedly:  start by reading and then writing what might be small cables to the infinite wisdom of healing.  Teach people to trust again, build a relationship based on mutual constructive feedback, and slowly one's humanity emerges from the darkness. Shaun Griffin has been teaching a poetry workshop for decades at Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
